How to create Certificate Signing Request (CSR) on Linux?

Create file via OpenSSL:

openssl req -new -newkey rsa:2048 -nodes -keyout osinetworks.key -out osinetworks.csr

FieldDescription
Common NameThe domain name you want to protect. If you’re requesting a wildcard certificate, an asterisk (*) must be added to the left of the domain you’re requesting a wildcard from, for example *.osinetworks.com.
OrganizationThe registered full name of the company. If you are registering personally, the name of the person requesting the certificate must be entered.
Organizational UnitIf available, enter the name your organization works for.
City or PlaceThe full name of the place where the company is located or registered.
State or ProvinceThe full name of the state or province in which the firm is located.
CountryThe country code of the country where your organization is officially registered, in the format of the International Standards Organization (ISO), consisting of two letters. Example: EN
Password (Optional)A password for SSL. If you leave this field blank, it means there will be no SSL (private key) password.

The resulting CSR file can be opened in a text editor. Copy the text here when applying for SSL.
